Santo Antão is the westernmost and most mountainous island, world-famous for its spectacular trekking trails along dizzying canyons. Its northern and western coast displays volcanic black sand beaches and rocky beaches of rare dramatic beauty, contrasting the lush green of agricultural valleys with the deep blue of the rough ocean.

Samolotem: Does not have an active airport. Access is exclusively by ferry from Mindelo (São Vicente).
